Featuring all the upgraded specifications that the Shimano Nexus and Stress Free system have to offer, the main differences between the GTE and the RE is three fewer ball bearings (which means the RE only has the equivalent of five!).

It also has a single crank handle, which some anglers prefer when range fishing, also featured is a standard graphite spool.

Like the GTE, the Nexus Baitrunner RE features Shimano's patented Aero Wrap system for top draw casting performance, whilst Rotor Cast Control and Positive Bail combine to completely eliminate any potential problems of the bail arm flicking over when putting all into your long range casting.

With its retro look, old school black graphite cosmetics - the new Aero GTE-C hails a welcome return to the fold of this legendary Baitrunner model.

Now upgraded with a lightweight double handle, cold forged anodised spools and a micro click multi disc rear drag for flawless Baitrunner and fish playing capabilities.

The gear ratio has been tweaked from 4.5:1 up to a 4.6:1 ratio developing more line retrieval per crank.

On top of this, there is a 10000 version for long range work and larger diameter mainlines.

Fox Stratos FS 10000 Carp Reel
The fantastic Fox Stratos FS10000 reel has a body size smaller than a standard 8000 size reel but the spool size is considerably larger measuring 60mm in dia. and 30mm wide. The spool has quick release button, built in line clip and a micro adjustment front drag. The spool stays pre adjusted even when removed from the reel which is very useful when switching from one breaking strain of line to another. Both spools are supplied with reducers that simply wraps around the spool which halves the line capacity when required. The super slow oscillation gives fantastic line lay and offers friction free casting as the line actually has to travel less distance across the face of the spool. The rotor actually rotates around the spool 22 times on one oscillation of the spool from front to back. The Stratos runs on 16 high quality stainless steel ball bearings plus one roller bearing which gives silky smooth performance and makes the reel a pleasure to use. The gearing mechanism has been fine tuned to give perfect meshing which undoubtedly aids power retrieve which is critical when fishing in heavy situatons like snags or weeds. The free spool system operates with the lever pushed forward against the reel stem for casting, playing, etc. and is pulled backwards towards the angler to disengage. This gives the advantage of not having a protruding lever whilst the reel is in a normal position. The free spool system has an adjustment knob that has a positive click to give an audible indication when tensioning the system. The reel is supplied in a bag with a spare spool.
