  • Korda Wide Gape Hooks

    Korda Korda Wide Gape Hooks

Korda Wide Gape Hooks This is a really classic pattern of hook and the Wide Gape has accounted for a huge number of big carp captures over the many years since it was first launched. It is based on an old classic spade end hook pattern from the 1980s and 1990s which found favour with many anglers at the time – the Maruta Kinryu – but we have improved it and made it more user-friendly by switching the spade for an eye. The Wide Gape features a slightly in-turned eye, with a short shank, heavily forged bend, and very sharp, beaked point. It can be used with a wide variety of different pop-up and bottom bait presentations, and once it goes in it tends to stay in. Key features Classic hook pattern Short shank and in-turned eye Sharp, beaked point Very strong

  • Korda Kurv Shank Hooks

    Korda Korda Kurv Shank Hooks

Korda Kurv Shank Hooks The Kurv Shank is a very versatile hook and can be used with both pop-up and bottom bait rigs, including popular presentations such as the KD and IQ D-rig. It has great hooking properties thanks to an aggressively in-turned eye and curved shank, which helps it to flip round and take a hold inside the mouth, even when using it without Shrink Tube or a Kicker. Hooking potential is also aided by its long, needle sharp point. It also comes in a barbless version. Key features For both pop-up and bottom bait rigs Curved shank and in-turned eye Long, sharp point

  • Korda Kamakura Wide Gape Hooks

Korda Korda Kamakura Wide Gape Hooks

Korda Kamakura Wide Gape Hooks The Kamakura sharpening process produces a hook point which is every bit as good as a hand-sharpened hook, but without you having to go to all the time and effort involved in doing it yourself. The Kamakura Wide Gape is a version of this classic pattern, but with a much sharper, finer point – it is likely that you will need to change your hook after every fish you catch, due to the points being so delicate.  It features a slightly in-turned eye, with a short shank, heavily forged bend, and a beaked point. It can be used with a wide variety of different pop-up and bottom bait presentations, and once it goes in it tends to stay in. The points are protected by a blob of wax which needs to be carefully removed before use, and they come supplied in a box which holds each individual hook securely in place – you get ten hooks in each box.Key features Based on the original Wide Gape Incredibly sharp beaked point Point protected by wax Micro Barbed or barbless

  • Korda Mixa Hooks

    Korda Korda Mixa Hooks

Korda Mixa Hooks This hook has been specifically designed for floater fishing, exhibiting great hooking potential as well as being as unobtrusive as possible when targeting wary carp. The Mixa has a very short shank and a wide gape, and can be used either with baits, such as cork balls, fished directly on the back of the shank, or with a hair rig. It is still a strong hook and has been used to land some very big carp, and the beaked point is razor sharp.Key features Designed for floater fishing Short shank and wide gape Strong and sharp

  • Korda Choddy Hooks 1

    Korda Korda Choddy Hooks

Korda Choddy Hooks This hook has been specifically designed for use with stiff hook links and rig presentations such as the chod rig or hinged stiff rig, but it can also be used with other pop-up presentations as well. I t has an out-turned eye, to help give a continuous curve from the hook link to the hook when using stiff presentations, and the rest of its shape is based upon the iconic Wide Gape pattern, albeit in a slightly thicker wire. It is an incredibly strong hook, as Darrell Peck will attest to, having caught carp to over 70lb on the size 8 version. The slightly curved point is very sharp, and the barb is of a size that doesn’t hinder penetration, but once in, helps the hook stay securely in place.Key features Perfect for chod and hinged stiff rigs Out-turned eye Very strong Curved, sharp point Micro Barbed or barbless versions

  • Korda Kamakura Krank Hooks

    Korda Korda Kamakura Krank Hooks

Korda Kamakura Krank Hooks The Kamakura sharpening process produces a hook point which is every bit as good as a hand-sharpened hook, but without you having to go to all the time and effort involved in doing it yourself. The Kamakura Krank has a unique shape, featuring a very wide gape, with quite a short, curved shank into a slightly in-turned eye – the in-turned effect is accentuated by the shape of the shank and the way it sweeps round to the eye. The point, which is slightly beaked, is offset and this shape helps it to ‘Krank’ its way in once it takes an initial hold. These hooks are very strong, and feature a micro barb which won’t hinder penetration, but once in, will ensure that the hook stays in place. A barbless version is also available. The Krank can be used with a wide variety of different rigs and is incredibly effective even with a simple knotless knot, or it can be used on more complicated set-ups, such as the Spinner Rig which Tom Dove favours himself.  The points are protected by a blob of wax which needs to be carefully removed before use, and they come supplied in a box which holds each individual hook securely in place – you get ten hooks in each box. Key features Based on the original Krank pattern Incredibly sharp, fine point Point protected by wax Micro Barbed or barbless

  • ESP Cryogen Trig-Hammer Hooks

    Drennan ESP Cryogen Trig-Hammer Hooks

ESP Cryogen Trig-Hammer HooksA new long shank pattern that has proved outstanding during field testing. Ultra-sharp, long fine needle points combined with an aggressive shape that achieves incredibly secure hook holds. Especially affective on Ronnie’s and also bottom bait rigs where it ‘flips and pricks’ instantly. Made using the same twin tempering process as the existing Cryogen hooks which results in exceptional strength and point durability. The relative proportions of a long subtly curved shank, 9° in-turned eye, wide gape and long hypodermic like point result in a hook pattern that is incredibly effective. On Ronnie rigs the hook point is in an aggressive poised position making it a very efficient hooker with superb hook holds and it is equally effective on bottom bait rigs, where the hook is very difficult to eject and turns and catches hold securely even without the aid of a line aligner or ‘kicker’. Features: Years of development Cryogenically tempered Incredibly strong Durable ultra sharp needle points Tufflon coated Micro-barbed and Barbless

  • esp cryogen claw hammer barbed size 4

Drennan ESP Cryogen Claw Hammer Hooks

ESP Cryogen Claw Hammer Hooks Claw-Hammers have a sweeping beaked point ideal for fishing over gravel and for assured hook holds in thick weed.  Perfect when used with bottom bait combi / flipper type rigs. With longer, finer points this wide gape pattern accounted for a lot of big carp over 12 months of field testing! Incredibly sharp straight out of the packet, ardent hook sharpeners like Gaz Fareham have been testing without reaching for the file.  Together with a slick PTFE Tuflon coating and micro barbs these ensure excellent penetration. The wire gauge has been stepped up on the two largest sizes by 0.1mm and heavy forging improves strength even further.  The point length to wire diameter ratio ensures the points are still long, fine and needle sharp!   The twin process of heat and cryogenic tempering ensures formidable strength and point durability with just the right degree of shock absorbing ‘spring’ – neither too soft nor too brittle.  Enlarged eye diameters allow for thicker monofilaments to be used with the knotless knot. Slick PTFE tuflon coating Barbless or Micro Barbed
